You didn’t train
this deeply to
play small.

You are the therapist other therapists refer to when nothing else has worked. You have clinical depth most practitioners spend a career building. And you are almost certainly undercharging for it.

The Spacious Practice is the training programme that changes that -- built for therapists who work at depth. Borderless. Created by a working clinician, not a marketing coach.

Something's been
holding you back.

“The work you’re capable of delivering is worth far more than the model you’ve been handed.”

-- Lucy Orton
01

You're brilliant at your work.

You've invested years in training, supervision, and mastering your modalities. You're the therapist clients can't stop recommending, the one who produces results others can't.

02

But the model is broken. And nobody talks about the shame that comes with it.

The guilt of charging what you're worth. The feeling that using AI in your practice makes you less of a clinician. The belief that wanting to earn more means you care less about your clients. A packed schedule built on 50-minute sessions that leaves you depleted rather than energised. None of this is inevitable. All of it is taught.

03

There's another way.

Fewer clients. Deeper work. Intensives designed around your modalities. A practice that works from Bangkok as easily as it does from Bristol. Fees that reflect the depth of what you actually deliver. You've glimpsed it. Now let's build it.

Does any of this
sound familiar?

If it does, you’re in exactly the right place.

You're trained in a depth modality and you know you're barely scratching the surface in 50-minute sessions
You're tired of choosing between honouring your training and building a practice that doesn't require self-sacrifice
You want to work with fewer clients at a deeper level, and you want the income to match
You've felt like using AI in your practice means you're cutting corners, and you're ready to stop believing that
You want training from someone who actually practises intensives across multiple modalities, not just teaches marketing
You don't know if you're even allowed to work with clients outside your own country, and no one has ever actually told you
You're drawn to the idea of a borderless practice -- working with clients anywhere in the world, without being locked to one time zone or insurance panel
You want a community of therapists who understand your ambition without treating it as suspect

Here is what changes
when the model changes.

Before
  • 30+ sessions a week to hit income targets
  • Guilt about what you charge -- and what you don't
  • One modality, 50 minutes, same four walls
  • Anxious about AI replacing you
  • Bound to one city, one insurance panel, one timezone
  • Clinically depleted. Giving what you don't have.
After
  • 8--12 intensives a year. Sustainable, deeply resourced
  • Premium fees you hold without apology
  • IFS, Brainspotting, somatic work -- across days, not hours
  • Using AI visibly, ethically, and without shame
  • Clients on five continents. Work from anywhere.
  • The best clinical work of your career -- because you have the capacity for it

“This is not about working less. It is about working at the depth your training prepared you for -- and being paid accordingly.”

-- Lucy Orton

The Curriculum

The Spacious
Method

Three pillars built from two decades of clinical practice and years of running multi-modal intensives across five continents. Practical and psychological in equal measure.

I

The Intensive Method

Design and deliver multi-modal intensives across borders

The structural frameworks, client-screening processes, pricing models, and marketing approaches that underpin a genuinely portable intensive practice. Built for IFS, Brainspotting, RLT, sex therapy, and somatic modalities, not a single-track system.

II

Inside Work for Practitioners

Money, shame, and AI without the guilt

The fee-confidence work. The belief shifts around charging well. The honest conversation about using AI in clinical and business contexts without feeling like you're betraying your training. This is the pillar most practice-building courses skip entirely.

III

Held Practice

Coming Soon

A live space for what the work itself brings up

Monthly live drop-in sessions, timezone-rotated so the same access is available whether you're in Auckland or Amsterdam. A place to bring what your clinical work stirs in you, held by someone who is still in the room doing the same work.

The things people
actually worry about.

These aren’t objections to be dismissed. They’re real concerns from real therapists, and each one has a direct answer inside the programme.

Charging high fees feels impossible.

That feeling is the inside work -- and Pillar 2 is built entirely around it. Fee confidence is learnable. It's not a personality trait you either have or don't. Most therapists have never had a direct conversation about the psychology of pricing, and it shows in how they hold -- or don't hold -- their rates.

I don't know how to find clients willing to pay for this.

Premium clients exist in every market and every country. The scarcity isn't in the clients -- it's in the positioning. Pillar 1 covers this in depth: how to communicate the value of intensive work, where to find the people who are ready for it, and how to price it without apology.

Using AI in my practice feels like cutting corners.

Lucy uses AI visibly in her own clinical practice and teaches it without the hand-wringing. The guilt is real. It's also unfounded. The Bonus AI Playbook covers how to integrate AI ethically without compromising the depth of what you offer.

I don't know if I'm legally allowed to work internationally.

You're far from alone. It's one of the most common unasked questions in the profession. The Global Practice Compliance Guide covers this directly: which countries have clear frameworks for remote therapeutic work, what insurers need to know, and how to stop assuming the answer is no when it often isn't.

I'm scared my professional community will judge me.

That fear is a pattern, not a personal flaw -- and it's one most depth therapists share. The Academy community exists precisely so you're not navigating this alone. You'll be alongside practitioners who have already decided that building sustainably and working with clinical integrity are not in conflict.

I've started things like this before and not followed through.

The Academy isn't open-ended. There's a defined outcome: your first premium intensive booked and delivered within the programme window. A beginning, a structure, a finish line. That specificity exists because accountability without an endpoint isn't accountability.

About Lucy

Built from the inside.
Taught from the field.

Lucy Orton has spent nearly two decades in clinical practice, working across IFS, Brainspotting, RLT, and sex therapy with individuals and couples on five continents. Along the way, she built something rare: a multi-modal intensive practice with clients who cross time zones to work with her, wherever in the world she is based.

The shift came when fellow therapists started asking how she did it. How did she move away from the 50-minute session treadmill? How did she design intensives across modalities? How did she work with clients anywhere in the world without being bound by local insurance panels?

Now she brings that knowledge to therapists ready to build practices that are as global, as deep, and as sustainable as the work they are capable of delivering.
